Boring mills are among the highest-value machine tools in a shop. The precision boring head, rotary table, and column geometry represent significant capital investment. These mechanical systems are built for long service life. The CNC control that drives them is not.
When a boring mill control fails or becomes unsupportable, the choice is clear: a new machine with equivalent boring capacity is a major capital investment. A retrofit replaces only the control system, returning the machine to production with a modern, supportable platform while preserving the precision mechanical components.
MachMotion installs a modern PC-based CNC control configured for the specific boring mill geometry — including W-axis (spindle face) configuration, rotary table integration, and all auxiliary functions including coolant and tool change.

What stays: Boring head and spindle, rotary table, column, ways, and all mechanical positioning systems
